Review: Sarah’s Surrender by Lynda Chance

Summary
John Garrett is a cynical multi-millionaire who is rarely denied anything he wants, until the day he meets Sarah McAlister. Sarah's been hurt in the past and everything about the brooding rancher sends her defenses on high alert. She tries her best to stay out of his path, but his relentless pursuit makes him all but impossible to resist.

Review
If I had to describe this book in one word it would be melt-your-pantilicious. Oh my. Complete Alpha male. The only thing that melts Sarah is him and his dominant nature. I loved all the conflict and what it took for them to admit to each other they were in love. I can’t wait for Jaime and her boss’ book. Please Lynda.

Review: Staking His Claim by Lynda Chance

Summary
Twenty-one-year-old Elaina Ruiz has only just begun college when she meets Raul Vega for the first time. Recognizing his ruthless intensity for what it is, she doesn't correct him when he assumes she is an eighteen-year-old freshman.

Raul Vega has never met a woman he couldn't do without. Until he meets Elaina Ruiz and knows she has to belong to him--even if it means waiting for her to grow up.

Review
Steamy hot read. Talk about chemistry. These two could cut the sexual tension with a knife. I really liked this book. I loved how intense Raul was. That is one hot as hell Alpha hero. And Elaina didn’t take his shit for long. She eventually demanded what she needed and he gave her that. I love how we got a glimpse of their life 5 years later too. I bet it is nonstop action at that house.

If you are looking for a short, steamy-as-hell read, look no further. Lynda pulled it off with this book.

Review: Coming for My Baby by Angie Daniels

Summary
The award-winning author of The Beaumont Series brings readers a delightfully short story that will kick off the Sheraton Beach Brief.

Shannon Shaw’s grandmother is coming for a visit so she better get her fiancĂ© back in a hurry. Otherwise the feisty old lady will never allow her only grandchild to live alone in Sheraton Beach. Shannon begs her cheating ex-fiancĂ© Laz Lewis

Review
I really liked the story. I did have a problem with it though. If I am engaged to a cop, been with him for three years, I’m pretty sure I would know what his partner looked like. To me it sounded as if they didn’t involve each other in their lives other than when they were together. Other than that I think it’s a good story. I wish there would’ve been more background, like maybe why Shannon is so insecure.

Review of Fated Hearts by Donna Michaels

Summary
Thanks to fate, Jordan Mitchell-Ryan’s heart is tattered. Having kept her from the man she thought she’d always marry, the same fickle fate took away the man she eventually did. Thrown back into the path of her fist love, she finds hers is not the only heart fate has damaged. Widower and software CEO, Cole McCall fills his days with computer codes and working the family ranch. When his visiting former neighbor sets out to delete the firewall around his heart, he discovers there’s no protection against the Jordan virus. Though she understands his pain and reawakens his soul, will it be enough for Cole to overcome his past and embrace their fated hearts?

Review
Emotional, heart gripping tale of the journey for true love. Wow, this book made me laugh and cry and want to punch the hero in his balls. Jordan is a lot stronger than me. i don't think I could've put up with Cole's treatment of her. It all makes sense though. She knows what he's going thru seeing as how she went thru it at the same time as him. This was a story of true emotions and the way real people would work thru them. It touched me in so many ways. I can't wait to see what happens with Connor and Kerri. When is this book coming out Donna?????

Review: Hard Mated (Shifters Unbound #3.5) by Jennifer Ashley

Summary
A short novel of the Shifters Unbound series. Spike, a wildcat Shifter and the champion fighter of Shiftertown, is stunned when Myka, the best friend of a dying human woman, announces that Spike has fathered a cub. What's more, the mother is giving the boy to Spike to protect and raise.

Myka, who'd been raised by an abusive stepfather, is not sure that a wild fighter named Spike is the best man to bring up the cute little jaguar cub. She goes to Shiftertown to check out Spike, and finds that the man behind the name is a lonely Shifter who's lost most of his family and is a fierce caretaker to those he has left.

Spike is torn between the cub and his duties as tracker to the Shiftertown leader, and begs Myka, the only person who understands, to help him. He starts to like the sassy Myka, a horse trainer who's not afraid of working with animals, even if they're wildcats who turn into humans.

When Spike's job puts his cub and Myka in danger, Spike is forced to choose between those to whom he's pledged his loyalty and his need to protect the woman and cub he's come to love.

Review
This book is the perfect example of why romance readers everywhere would love a shifter mate. They love so fiercely. Spike is the tough fighting jaguar shifter. He finds out he has a cub, and at the same time meets his mate. His protective instincts go haywire. He doesn't want to do as he's told and you don't know until the end if he's going against his alpha or working with him. Myka has been so alone. They are so perfect for each other. I can't wait to read more about them in future books.

Can I just say wow! This was a super long book and I couldn’t put it down.

Summary
Vice Sergeant Caroline Palmer is not into whips and chains... That is, not until Homicide detective Lieutenant Michael 'Mick' McGraw--better known as The Iceman--leads her undercover into a secret world she never dreamed existed. He says they are tracking a sexual predator, a sadistic killer who preys on adventurous suburban couples. But Caroline knows Mick is looking for something else. Something much more dangerous. This erotic thriller will leave you breathless in more ways than one.

Review
Can I just say wow! This was a super long book and I couldn’t put it down. To me, this book describes a BDSM relationship perfectly (or as how I see it should be). I can’t imagine the emotions the hero or heroine had to go thru. There was so much push and pull between them. I love that Caroline was an eager, meek little girl, but a sassy and confident woman. She gave as good as she got. The sex scenes, well my fingers are still burning. This book is extremely hot! I have definitely found a new author!

Review: Rules of Mating (Haven #1) by Nia K. Foxx

Summary
Ashlei Preen had spent her entire childhood trying to fit in with the residents of Haven. A pretty tall order for someone deemed a regular human in a town of shifters. Still, in spite of her minor “defect” she managed to hold her own. As an adult she applied that same tenacity, which saw her through childhood, to her medical practice while trying to keep sane. Lately her thoughts have been filled with the town’s newest resident who seems more eager to be away from her rather than share the same air space.

The little town of Haven was exactly what he needed. Seth Riddick was done with the big city, and the stream of crime that consumed his life as a Special Forces detective. He longed for the simplicity of the thriving shifter town where he could be true to himself and enjoy a frequent hunt without fear of being tranqed – that really pissed him off. Haven was definitely a paradise for a lone wolf like him. But even paradise has its complications and for Seth it comes equipped with a stethoscope and enough determination to have him questioning his bachelor status.

It isn’t long before the lines become blurred of who’s chasing whom.

Review
This book is full of hot as hell sex and one steamy hot Alpha werewolf, my favorite type of hero! Ashlei has had it tough, never feeling like she will fit into her shiftertown. Knowing a shifter would never want to mate with her since she can’t shift. When the new Sheriff (Seth) comes into town she is immediately smitten. After a month of avoidance, they finally get it on. Let me just say, yummy! This book was nonstop action and sex. Ashlei is the heroine everyone loves and Seth is the hero everyone wants. They are the perfect pair.

Nia is a new author to me. I will definitely be checking out some of her other work.

Review: Rough Play (The Roughnecks #2) by Keri Ford

Summary
Jacob Iverson has plans. Distant plans, but they exist. Find the right woman, eventually settle down and do the whole “white picket fence” routine. But until eventually comes, he’s having fun with right now. Then he meets Flora, who blows him back a step. Suddenly his distant plans are rushing up to meet him…only not quite the way he imagined.

But can Flora give up her idea of what independence means to let him in?

Review
I read the first book and couldn’t wait for this one. I wasn’t disappointed. Hot as hell sex, a stubborn and sassy heroine and one steamy hot male. Yummilicious! Flora is fighting abandonment issues, stemming from her childhood. Jacob is a commitment-phobe. Jacob overcomes his problems to realize that Flora might never overcome hers. I love the conflict and extreme sexual tension with these two. They burn the sheets up! I can’t wait to read the next story. I want to see how Tonya and Trent get together. Can’t wait til November!

Review: Wake-Up Call by Linda Rettstat

Summary
Candace Hudson wants a husband and babies. But a recent nasty break-up has her rethinking the husband part of the equation. Griff Calhoun, a divorced father and the product of divorce, wants to share his wealth and Texas cattle ranch to open a summer camp for children of divorce. Candace already has a full-time job; Griff wants her to consult with him on his project. Neither one is looking for love, but both Candace and Griff get a much needed wake-up call.

Review
First, if you are looking for erotic romance, this is not for you. I generally prefer erotic romance, but this was a sweet story of true love. Candace has been burned by an ex-fiance and isn’t ready for a new romance. Griff got burned badly and was left with a daughter from his first marriage. He didn’t want to get married again. Looking to start a camp for kids from divorced families he seeks out Candace for guidance. There’s an instant attraction, but their first meeting is full of scandal.

The couple overcomes an asshole ex-fiance, a psychopath stalker, a plane crash, her dad’s heart attack and a complicated pregnancy. In the end they work it out. I couldn’t stop reading this book. I wanted to know what happened next. There was something happening throughout the whole book. This was an awesome love story and told very well! Good job Linda, I hope we get Zeke’s story next.

Review: A Love Story (Now and Forever 1) by Jean Joachim

Summary
After the tragic loss of her fiancé to war in Iraq two years earlier, Callie was determined to go on. Still sad, totally alone and low on funds, she traveled to Kensington State University to continue her education. Bravely facing the challenge of building a life on her own, she unexpectedly fell in love with Mac, the handsome dean, who helped her heart mend.

Mac, lonely, divorced with a child, fell for Callie almost the instant he spied her on campus. Patience, perseverance and passion brought Callie to his side. However, their road to happiness was fraught with trials from coping with ghosts from Callie’s past to the demands of Mac’s young son.

Could their happiness survive a scheming ex-wife, a custody battle and murder attempts from a vicious drug gang?

Review
A tearjerker for sure! Callie has had it rough. She lost her parents at 16 and then lost her fiancĂ© to the war. Two years later, she starts to move on by going back to school for her Master’s degree. While there she meets Mac, the dean of the school. While working together, they fall in love.

Their love story isn’t an easy one. It comes with several trials and obstacles. Right after one works itself out, they are hit with another. You know you have a story of true love when they turn to each other for support during their trials and tribulations. Callie and Mac do this time and time again. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Now and Forever series.

Review: Wicked Allure by Leslie C. Ferdinand and Shirley Holden Ferdinand

Summary
Multicultural Erotic Romance with Adults Only Content, explicit language and some drug use.

What Does A Man Say to the Woman He Betrayed But Never Stopped Loving?
Three years ago, Zachary Steele refused to entertain thoughts of permanency with any woman. A hedonist at heart, he didn’t want to corrupt the much younger, Madigan DeLeon, by continuing his affair with her. With the hidden scars of his past, he didn’t believe in happily-ever-after. By the time he realized how much Madigan meant to him, he’d driven her away. Then, one night, after being clean for a number of years, Zach briefly falls off the bandwagon. He believes his lovemaking to Madi is a drug-induced hallucination. The resulting consequences tell another story.

What Does A Woman Do When the Only Man She’s Ever Loved Hurt Her So Deeply She Feared She’d Never Recover?
Three years after her affair with Zach so abruptly ended, celebutante, Madigan DeLeon, is thrust back into Zach’s life by her mother’s machinations. Brought home under the false pretenses of repairing her damaged relationship with her mother, Madi instead finds herself running a private sex club called Wicked Allure. Forced to confront her anger at his betrayal and grief at the loss of what might’ve been, Madi faces the realization that she’s never stopped loving Zach.

Can Two Broken Hearts Set Aside Anger and Betrayal to Find True Love Once and For All?
Searching the deepest recesses of their hearts, in a place where pride and pain has no room, Madi and Zach must decide if their bond is strong enough to take a second chance at love. Or if resuming their sexual relationship is an irresistible wicked allure and the ghosts of their former relationship will finally, and forever, sever all ties between them.

Review
An emotional, heart wrenching story of real love. Okay. Can I just say, that Karolyn is a BITCH. She doesn’t deserve to be a mother or for her children to love her. How can Jack remarry her and then not stick up for his daughters. UHHHHHHH. That just pissed me off. Sorry, but as a mom, I wanted to reach in the book and punch her.  Now that that is out of the way. HeHEHE.

Zach is tormented and full of guilt. Madi is full of love, but is scared he will hurt her again. Now, mind you, Zach does deserve her wrath, all the way or not, he cheated. But for a mother to set her daughter up to get hurt like that. Wow. I just don’t understand. How can you be jealous of your own child. Once Madi and Zach work thru their differences the book is amazing. It’s hilarious and will make you cry like a baby. I really hope the book continues into a book 2 and more. I really want to know what happens with Brittney and Kelly. Maybe their mother deserves a background book as well so I can see what the hell is going thru her mind. Sorry, I won’t start on that again. I did love this book. The characters are so real for me.

Review: One Night Rodeo (Blacktop Cowboys #4) by Lorelei James

Summary
All it takes is one night to change a cowboy’s life… Barrel racer Celia Lawson knows better than to tangle with bull rider Kyle Gilchrist. The sexy cowboy’s love ‘em and leave ‘em ways have earned him a reputation on the rodeo circuit, and he’s always seen her as his best friend’s kid sister. But after one wild, tequila-fueled night, Celia wakes up to find out she’s gotten herself hitched—to a man she never should have married! When Celia insists on an annulment, Kyle has no good reason to say no—except he isn’t ready to let go of his new bride. But then Kyle inherits a sprawling Wyoming ranch, and seizes the opportunity to enlist Celia’s help. She agrees to lend a hand—with two conditions: He has to get up to speed as a rancher within six months; then they’ll get a divorce. And their marriage will be in name only. Kyle gives in to Celia’s demand, yet he's ready to prove to her he has what it takes to turn their one night rodeo into a lifetime of love….

Review
I have been waiting for this book forever! Let’s just say, I was not disappointed. Kyle and Celia have had a love hate relationship going on thru the whole Blacktop Cowboys series. I loved and couldn’t wait for them to realize what it was. It didn’t take Celia near as long as it did Kyle, but she finally came to her senses. This book made me crack up laughing and then on the next page I was crying, then squirming in my seat. I love Cowboys and no one does them like Lorelei!

Keeping her heart protected when she knows he’ll be leaving? Not so easy, but her only choice.

Review
This cover is so freaking hot! The book matches! Wowser. This book has been on my to buy list since it came out and I finally got it. Let’s just say, the next two will not take that long for me to grab. Lane has been in Apple Trail helping his brothers renovate a manor and clear it out for drilling. He is consumed by guilt from keeping a secret from his brothers. He isn’t staying, can’t live with the guilt. Then, he finally gives in to his attraction to Gretchen and everything changes, but will he be strong enough to put his fears aside and tell his brothers everything, risking him losing them?

Rough Ride is full of hilarious sexual teasing, tension and banter. Lane and Gretchen are made for each other. I can’t wait for Jacob and Flora’s book!

Summary
Turned into a vampire against her will, twenty-eight-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago’s vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye—and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing—among humans or inhumans. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he’ll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed.

No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on

Review
Can I just say wow? It was like two books in one. I so love this series and this book is now one of my favorites. They had to fight the big fight twice in this book as well as the GP. Ethan, Master Vampire that he is, pisses me off to no end. And Merit, my girl, she is tough as nails and puts up with nothing. I love her! Mallory – ehhhh, I’m still kinda iffy. I want to like her, but she’s pissed me off. We’ll see when the new book comes.
J Chloe, keep up the awesome work! Thanks for sharing your world with us! Cadogan House Rules!

They need to uncover the truth before it’s too late, or once again, Darcy will need to fight to hold onto her dreams.

Review
OK. I just finished the book and am still trying to get over the cliffhanger of an ending. This book continues right where the 1st book in the series (Mystic Wolves) left off. Let me just evil, thy name is Amber. Darcy and Mason, the perfect couple, keep getting bombarded with one thing after another. There are magic bonded items bound to kill, obsession spells and so much more this poor couple has to defeat this book. And then the ending OMG. And I have to wait until December until I find out what happens. I am going to die! This is why I usually wait until the whole series comes out before reading it. I am going to die. Belinda is a new author to me and let me tell you, I will be reading more. Belinda, please, please I beg you, get Testing Fate out early.

Review: The Mystic Wolves (#1 in the Mystic Wolves series) by Belinda Boring

Someone is trying to send a deadly message to Mason, arranging the deaths of those he loves and it puts the entire pack and Alpha on high alert. Darcy understands the primal instincts driving her beloved Mason's commands. With the help of those he sets as protectors, she learns about herself and the things she'll need to help support her Alpha and pack. When events turn dire however, one truth offers her strength - once given, oaths are unbreakable ... even if it means risking it all.

Review
Wow! This book was so intense. I couldn’t stop reading. Mason is the most loving, caring mate I have ever read. He put Darcy’s needs before his time and time again. Darcy did the same as well. It is a truly beautiful romance. There were moments I cried and then burst out laughing. I loved the heroine. She’s my kind of chick. Now, the cliffhanger ending has me dying. I don’t believe it. What the HELL! I am so reading Forget Me Not tonight!

Review
Netgalley Review
If you love werewolves, like action and steaming hot sex scenes, this is definitely a book you don’t want to pass up. I couldn’t put this book down. There was nonstop action and hot as hell sex. There were times when I wanted to smack Duncan upside his head. I understood why he was doing what he was doing, but of course I knew the other side as well. I also wanted to hit Neva as well. I am just glad she realized what was more important. I am also glad her twin, Savannah stood by her side when she confronted her parents.

Her mother pissed me off to no end. Talk about double standards! She deserved to get her ass whooped just as her father did. I would never make my child choose between the love of her life and the love of her family. They should be banned from the pack not her. Uhhhh!

I can’t wait to read Savannah’s story next (Beneath a Darkening Moon). It sounds like she’s already found her true mate and he used her and abandoned her as well. I want to see what he has to say to redeem himself and hear the whole story.

Review
Very emotional and intense read. I loved Ian. He overcame so much. And poor Brooke, being pulled by her best friend to keep a secret from the man she loves. I am glad they overcame the issue and loved their HEA. Faith (best friend) finally came around and realized she was wrong in keeping the secret. I would love for Andrew to have a book. Maybe now that his secret is out he can overcome is alcohol problem and get on with his life, hopefully saving his marriage.

Review
What a moving romance. Both Karen and David both have major issues. I love how they work through them together and that it's David, the one who lost his wife and didn't want to let her go, that pulls thru first and brings Karen with him. Karen, daughter of famous race car driver George Cutty, went buck wild in her youth. As she got older she wanted to overcome her past and changed her name so it wouldn't shadow her future. Well, the truth comes out and David is the one who helps her pull through.

I love the HEA in this story. Both the hero and the heroine deserve it!

Review: Rules of Engagement by Ann Bruce

Then people following no rules but their own join in.

Review
A short read packed with hot sex and intense action. This book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I loved it. I hope Ann continues bringing it just like this.

Jake has commitment issues, and Katarzyna has big brother issues, virginity issues and failing engagment issues. Together they overcome all their problems, even manage to detain a huge criminal. Both of the main characters are fully developed.

Review: Divorced, Desparate and Delicious by Christie Craig

Summary
Ever since photographer Lacy Maguire caught her ex playing Pin the Secretary to the Elevator Wall, she's been content with her dog Fabio, her three cats, and a vow of chastity. But all that changes when the reindeer-antlered Fabio drags in a very desperate, on-the-run detective who decides to take refuge in her house--a house filled with twinkling lights and a decorated tree. (Okay, so it's February. but she has a broken heart to mend, a Christmas-card shoot to do, and a six-times divorced, match-making mother to appease.) For the first time in a looong while, Lacy reconsiders her vow. Because sexy Chase Kelly, wounded soul that he may be, would be an oh-so-delicious way of breaking her fast. Now, if she can just keep them both alive and him out of jail...

Review
Wow! Talk about a lot of twists and turns. I really liked this book. There were times when it got a little slow for me. I actually stopped reading it for a while and read a few other books, but eventually it just ate at me that I didn’t know what happened. I finished it today. I am so glad I did. It had the perfect ending.

Review: Tricked Truths by Beth Kerry

Summary
Grace Jamison had left the little town of Everly twelve years ago with her son and vowed never to return. But in order to move on with her future, she finds she has to return to her hometown and fix the wrongs of the past -- starting with the only man who had the power to hurt her.

The last person Trick Burnett wanted to see on West End property was his adulterous one time stepmother -- the woman responsible for his father's murder. Too bad his body seemed to have a mind of its own where Grace was concerned.

Trick hated secrets and Grace was a walking cache of them. He wasn't above committing sexual blackmail in order to trick the truth from her time and again. Her sweet responsiveness always left him hungry for more until the mere revelation of her dark secrets was no longer enough. He couldn't rest until he had everything from her -- mind, body and soul.

Review
I loved the twists and turns of this book. I loved how Trick tried with all his might not to want or care for Grace, but couldn’t help it in the end. In fact, the only thing I didn’t like was the way Grace allowed Trick to treat her. It was as though she had no self-esteem. It’s explained in the end, but I like strong-willed and sassy heroines usually. She didn’t ever gripe or whine about it though, so that made up for it.

Grace puts everyone ahead of herself. If you are ready for an emotional read, this is the book for you!

They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction...especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

I have found a new series. I can’t wait to read the next book and see if the detective comes around. I really wish Gin would’ve told him the truth about what happened to his partner, why she killed him. She’s her own kinda cop I would say. She only kills the people who deserve it. And OMG what a cliff hanger of an ending. I can’t wait to see what happens with the packet of info Fletcher left her. Keep up the good work Jennifer. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Review: Cooking Up Trouble by Elizabeth Coldwell

Summary
The good news is that Morgan Jones has landed her dream job, co-presenting the Saturday morning TV cookery show, Cook’s Treat. The bad news is she’ll be working alongside the hottest celebrity chef inLondon, Scott Harley.

Voluptuous Morgan has never forgiven Scott for trashing her cooking style and physical appearance in a magazine article, but when she meets him in the flesh for the first time her reaction is very different. The attraction between the two of them is mutual and undeniable, but she’s determined not to fall for his obvious charms. Their chemistry on the show disguises the tension behind the scenes – a tension that grows more sexual by the day.

Can she stand the growing heat – or should Morgan get out of the kitchen?

Review
Talk about turning up the heat. What a scrumptious treat this book turned out to be. Morgan and Scott have a chemistry that definitely turns up the heat. I think that maybe Morgan should've confronted Scott about his past comments about her (from before they met), especially since they had bothered her so much. It was like she just forgot about them. Of course, I might have too with him creating new recipes on me.

Review
What a story! I couldn't put it down. It was nonstop temptation. Poor Bethany, she was stuck in between a rock and a hard place. But with a hard place like Kane, who could resist. Yummy! Kane is the Alpha and oh my is he Alpha. Yummily so. Between her struggle with right and wrong (and she had a couple of those), I'm surprised poor Bethany didn't go insane, I might have... insane from lust anyways. This is definitely a keeper!
