Review: Cooking Up Trouble by Elizabeth Coldwell

Summary
The good news is that Morgan Jones has landed her dream job, co-presenting the Saturday morning TV cookery show, Cook’s Treat. The bad news is she’ll be working alongside the hottest celebrity chef inLondon, Scott Harley.

Voluptuous Morgan has never forgiven Scott for trashing her cooking style and physical appearance in a magazine article, but when she meets him in the flesh for the first time her reaction is very different. The attraction between the two of them is mutual and undeniable, but she’s determined not to fall for his obvious charms. Their chemistry on the show disguises the tension behind the scenes – a tension that grows more sexual by the day.

Can she stand the growing heat – or should Morgan get out of the kitchen?

Review
Talk about turning up the heat. What a scrumptious treat this book turned out to be. Morgan and Scott have a chemistry that definitely turns up the heat. I think that maybe Morgan should've confronted Scott about his past comments about her (from before they met), especially since they had bothered her so much. It was like she just forgot about them. Of course, I might have too with him creating new recipes on me.

Review: Prey for the Wolf by Kari Thomas

A highly sensual love story of passion, danger and primal rules.

Bethany knows the time for turning back was lost the minute she and Kane met. And she's about to find out what it means when a wolf shifter tells her she's his, no matter what happens in the following days of peril

Review
What a story! I couldn't put it down. It was nonstop temptation. Poor Bethany, she was stuck in between a rock and a hard place. But with a hard place like Kane, who could resist. Yummy! Kane is the Alpha and oh my is he Alpha. Yummily so. Between her struggle with right and wrong (and she had a couple of those), I'm surprised poor Bethany didn't go insane, I might have... insane from lust anyways. This is definitely a keeper!

Review: Sex and Chocolate: Double Dipped by Selena Illyria

Summary

She meets two sexy brothers who turn her world upside down and make her feel good again. When love comes calling, will she accept it? Even if it comes in the form of two sexy shifters?

Review
Yowser! Can I get a pair? This books was hot and short. If you only have a little while to read and want something steamy this is for you.

Melody is constantly pushed aside by her family in favor of her younger sister. When her younger sister brings her ex to family dinner, she’s had it. She meets the brothers, and oh my. Sean and Mitch have been rejected over and over. Tiger shifters are supposed to be solitary creatures and they get along fine. Together the three of them heal. Total HEA.

Review: For My Master by Suz deMello

Summary
Agent Kathie Belmont has long lusted after her boss, Ross Guerrero, but has never plucked up the courage even to flirt with him. Could he be the strong but tender master she craves?

Ross wants Kathie in his life—and on her knees. But the constraints of their jobs with an ultra-secret U.S. security agency have come between them.

Until the sadistic drug-trafficker El Silencio is tempted into a deal with Ross’ undercover persona—a deal that will go down at a BDSM party. With Kathie disguised as his sex slave, Ross sets out to bring down the criminal gang, and perhaps tempt Kathie into performing her role for the long run.

Review
I love BDSM books and this one just did it for me. Kathie has been in charge since her parents died at 18 and she had to take over for her two younger siblings. She did all that and went to college and became an agent. Ross wants her and this is the perfect way to get her. They have the perfect give and take in their relationship. I loved it. The sex scenes were YUMMY!

Review: Unleashed Temptation by Kari Thomas

Summary
Something wild this way comes…

Once a powerful, practicing Wiccan, Kira Douglas has reluctantly moved to wild and beautiful Sedona, Arizona for only one reason—assume custody of her dead sister’s daughter. She immediately runs into an obstacle. The child’s uncle, the disturbingly sexy Aiden Calhoun, refuses to give her up.

Aiden has good reason for not allowing Kira custody of his precious niece. The child is half witch, half shapeshifter. Allowing her to take the girl could expose the family’s shapeshifting secret he has spent a lifetime protecting.

Their instant attraction isn’t just an inconvenient temptation. It could put his entire family in danger.

But an evil force is re-emerging, bent on destroying everything they know and love. The only way to survive is to put all differences aside.

And overcome the nightmare that once broke Kira’s faith.

Review
Shapeshifters and witches oh my! I loved it. I didn’t know if I wanted to hit or kiss Aiden. He could be such an ass. I wish there were at least 3 more books.
J I read the brief epilogues that tell what happen with Gavin, Lena and Raina. I wish they had their own books. I would definitely buy them. Keep up the good work Kari! I will definitely be reading more of your good work!

Review: Under His Skin (So Inked #1) by Sidney Bristol

Summary

She’s never forgotten how he played the knight in shining armor to her damsel in distress. She’s ready to say thank you in several naughty ways, so long as she can walk away when it’s over with her heart intact.

Brian has no intention of allowing the feisty tattoo artist to leave him after one taste. He hasn’t had enough of her inked curves. The packaging might have changed, but Pandy is the woman he hasn’t been able to excise from his memory. He’s ready to put together a new life, one that includes her. But he’s not the only one vying for her attention. Someone else wants her, dead or alive.

Review
Pandy has never had anything in live easy. Since her mom died of cancer when she was a little girl, no one has loved her. So, when someone does, it’s too good to be true. She fights it. She doesn’t want to get crushed when he leaves. Brian has lost his band. Everyone died in a plane crash but him. When he finds Pandy again, after 10 years, he’s struck by how right they are together. She wants a fling and he wants so much more.
I loved this book. It was full of struggle, a man who loved a woman who didn’t know how to love him back. When in all actuality she did love him and showed him all the time. A crazed ex. There is so much drama in this book. I couldn’t put it down. I am so glad Pandy finally gave them a chance. Maybe she will see that she is worthy of him really soon. J I can’t wait for the 2nd book. I hope it’s Kellie’s.

Review: Hungerstorm (Heart of a Vampire, Book 2) by Amber Kallyn

Summary
After centuries alone, can a vampire king trust the woman who's woken his heart?

Jordan MacDougal, laird and King of his vampire clan, walks a thin line of civility between his clan and the local shifter pack. When his vampires began to disappear and the wolves accuse the intriguing woman who's touched his heart of being evil, he discovers that the traitor in his midst may be closer than he thinks.

A newly turned vampire, Dalia Jensen wakes to an unusual and frightening new world with no memory of the past year of her life. Accused of working with the Master Vampire who held her prisoner, her inability to remember the truth leaves her reeling under the allegations of vicious past actions. Uncertain of her culpability, she's unable to trust her own instincts as the reigning Vampire King turns her world upside down.

When the wolves call for her trial, demanding her life for those killed and tortured during that blank year, Jordan and Dalia must work together to find the truth, and save the love blooming between them.

Review
And the nonstop action continues. The author continues the action packed story from Bloodstorm. There is love, doubt, betrayal and action in the 2nd book of the Heart of a Vampire series. Dalia survives a year of torture and doesn’t remember it at all, only to awaken and find that she is a monster she didn’t believe in. Jordan, the king of the local clan of vampires, is drawn to his new fledgling and can’t understand why. All the answers come out in the end and are a complete surprise. I never guessed the ending. I loved it. I can't wait for the 3rd book, Heartstorm that comes out in the Fall of 2012.

Review: Bloodstorm (Heart of a Vampire Book 1) By Amber Kallyn

Summary
When duty forces a shaman to stop a vampire from her revenge, love doesn’t just burn... it bites.

For two hundred years, Niki DeVeraux has been tracking the monster who murdered her family and made her a vampire. She finally catches up to him in a small Arizona town, only to face more than she bargained for. Amid an imperious vampire King, a shaky truce between the local clan and shifter pack, and a too-sexy sheriff who makes her remember she’s still a woman, Niki’s single-minded purpose is threatened for the first time since her turning.

Between his duties as Keeper of the peace for the Magic Council and heir to his tribe’s shamanistic magic, Sheriff Shane Spencer’s job is to protect humanity and stop the friction between the local Arcaine races before it turns into an all out blood war. To make matters worse, there’s an irresistible rouge vampire in town enflaming his senses.

When wolves start turning up dead, the tension between the paranormal races grows and suspicion falls on Niki. Shane knows she’s not to blame, and it has nothing to do with the primal urges she stirs within him. Working together, they must find a way to stop the hostilities from going over the edge. Trouble is, the desires raging between Niki and Shane might prove more dangerous than the surrounding threats.

Review
What an awesome story. This book has all of the angst of fated lovers believing they shouldn’t and can’t be together and overcoming it all. Niki has been suffering for 200 years and is so scared to hope that she might actually have a life after her vengeance is obtained. Then she hears Shane say something stupid that he regrets as soon as he says and takes off.

This story is nonstop action and has it all, a mage, vampire, werewolves, witches and a shaman. What more can you ask for? I was on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to read book 2 and see who is the focus of that story.

Six years later, recently divorced Sheriff Trevor Matheson is picking up the pieces of his life. They need one another. The timing couldn't be more perfect.

Can the two overcome the ghosts of their past and rekindle a love lost? Is there a second chance in their future, or is their stolen love gone forever?

Show LessReview
Lila and Trevor sound like the perfect lovers since high school couple. If only she would’ve believed in him or stayed and fought for him. She realizes this after the fact, but it’s a little late.

I loved the basis of the storyline. This could’ve been such a great story, but to me the huge conflict was resolved way too easily. The heroine accepted the hero back way too easily, before she even knew the truth (which was devasting). I liked the book, but I really think it could have been so much more.

Review: Live-In Position by V.S. Tice

Live-In PositionSummary

Twenty-five year old Sophia Ashwood, part-time nanny, has just graduated college and is ready to write the next best seller; however, she needs a full-time job flexible enough for her to fulfill her dream.

Sophia’s determined to bide her time, until she can gain publication and freedom from the Bishop’s snobbery. However, the longer she cares for Victoria, the more wrapped up in their drama filled lives she becomes.

Review

I got an email with a review on this book and decided to purchase it. The blurb sounded really good. Well, when I downloaded it to my kindle app on my laptop I almost didn’t read it right off. There were over 16000 locations. I didn’t want to start anything I couldn’t finish in one night. Well, I went ahead and started it. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did. I read over half of it last night and the rest of it this morning. I loved it. Sophia is a wonderful person who is strong, caring, independent and sassy. She will fight for those she loves and for what she believes in. The Bishop family needed her so much.

I laughed and cried and could totally relate. I love that in a contemporary romance. There was jealousy (on both sides), angst and love, so much love. There were times when I thought she was too nice and forgiving. I would be hitting some of the people upside the head, where she would hug them. She’s my new hero! If you are looking for a sweet, romantic read, this is it. There are no steamy love scenes, but it was still an awesome read. I was hoping this would be a series, hopefully it will be the start of one.
